Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends: Edward's Day Out (NemesisHero123 style)

Originally written by the Rev W Awdry

The 1920's, on the Island of Sodor the railway has been in process since the World War 1, two Engines were helping to build the railway, when 1922 came along, the Railway was completed and the Fat Controller made billions of pounds and decided to buy seven Engines to run the Mainline. From the LNER he bought a Big Strong LNER A3 "Gordon" a B12 "Michael" (98462), and a B17 "Richard" (87546). He also bought a Beautiful Emerald Green Stirling Single called Emily. From the GER he got a Claud Hamilton "Molly" and finally Eagle the Red LYR Class 25.
One day the Big seven Engines were talking about today's work, suddenly Emily looked her left and saw a Blue Fowler Tender. Emily was puzzled, she looked at the other Big Engines boasting and then looked at the tender again, then she could hear a sniffing sound as if someone was crying, Emily didn't know who's tender is belongs to.
"Who's tender is this?" She asked to the other Engines. The biggest engine 'Gordon' snorted.
"It must be a spare for Engines who can't go long distances" He grumbled. Emily asked her driver to reverse inside the Shed to see what it is. Suddenly Emily found that the tender belongs to a Blue Tender Engine. He looked dusty and looked very sad.
"Hullo" puffed Emily. "My named is Emily, what's your's?" The Engine looked at Emily in a surprised face.
  "I'm Edward" Wheezed the Engine.
"What are you doing in here?" Emily asked.
"I use to work for the Fat Controller, but when the work was done I was put in here only to have a rest, now I've been in here for about 6 months and I want to see the sky again." Edward started to cry, Emily was upset too.
"Don't cry Edward" She puffed sadly "I'll try and find a way to get you out of the shed" But she didn't know how. Later Emily was to take a Passenger and waiting for her coaches to be ready, suddenly there was loud "PEEP PEEP" next to Emily, it was Thomas. Thomas was a Cheeky Little E2 and worked at Vicarstown Station and he loves being cheeky to Engines by whistling and making them jump. Emily was cross.
"Thomas" She scolded "Your never going to be a really useful Engine if you keep on being cheeky, but I need your help" Thomas listened carefully. "Do you know anything about Edward?" She asked, Thomas gasped.
"Edward" He said and smiled. "Now that's a name I haven't heard for a long time. He arrived in 1920 to help me with the work. Then two years later he disappeared, I don't what happened to him."
"I do" replied Emily. "He's been shut up in sheds for 6 months and forgotten." Thomas was shocked and very cross.
"How could the Fat Controller forget Edward, after all he did for him as well" Just then Michael puffed up with a devious smile.
"I know Edward, he's not good enough to be a Fat Controller's Engine."
"He has served his purpose like old Engines should" chuffed Richard.
"He is even too old to pull a Passenger train" snorted Gordon. "The Fat Controller didn't forget him, he only said that so he doesn't hurt his feelings. The Fat Controller needed LNER born Engines like myself and Michael and Richard."
"Get back to Doncaster you Galloping Sausages" Snapped Thomas. "Edward was the best Engine to work for the Fat Controller. All your trains are ready so Goodbye" And he huffed away, the Big Engines went to couple up to their Coaches, Emily was still upset about Edward. Later she was double heading a train with her best Friend 'Molly'.
"I understand how you feel" said Molly. "We need to tell the Fat Controller about Edward when we next see him."
"But will he listen?" asked Emily in worry.
"I'm sure he will" replied Molly. Emily knew the her best friend was always right and they puffed up the big hill. Meanwhile Michael was puffing towards Wellsworth Station when suddenly Michael found himself going slower and slower and stopped right next to the platform. His driver and fireman checked to see what happened. Then they found the problem.
"You've got a hole in your Firebar has collapsed" Said the Driver. "You can't pull the train.
"Oh the Indignity" groaned Michael. The Stationmaster telephoned the Fat Controller. He went out of his office to find any available Engines. There were none apart from Thomas.
"Thomas" boomed the Fat Controller. "Michael has put a hole in his Firebox, there are no spare Engines except for you. I know how much you wanted to go outside of Vicarstown and now is your chance." Thomas was very excited, but then he remembered Edward and how sad he was.
"I'm sorry Sir, but I can't accept" he said as firmly as possible. The Fat Controller was cross.
"Engines on my Railway do as they are told" came the blunt reply. "I like I said, there are no spare Engines."
"Not even Edward?" puffed Thomas. "He's been stuck in the sheds for 6 months and forgotten." The Fat Controller gasped, he had forgotten all about Edward.
"Edward" he thought. "Thank you for reminding me Thomas."
"Well it's Emily who should get the credit Sir" smiled Thomas. The Fat Controller went to the Sheds and found Edward.
"I am sorry" said the Fat Controller. "I've been so busy with the railway I forgot about you. Would you like to a train for me please Edward? One of the Engines is in a Predicament and I need you to pull it Edward. Will you?" Edward beamed from buffer to wheels.
"Yes please Sir." The Driver and Fireman fit his fire and Edward puffed out of the Sheds, he was dusty and covered in cobwebs. "Oh I'm stiff, I'm stiff" he groaned.
"You'll be able to have a run to your joints" said the Fat Controller. Edward looked all around him, he was glad to feel the sun again and hear the birds sing. Edward arrived at Wellsworth.
"Who are you?" Asked Michael. "Are you the Engine who was in the sheds and forgotten?"
"I was the Engine who was in the sheds and forgotten" puffed Edward, Michael gasped. Edward shunted Michael in a siding and went on the turntable to get ready, then he was coupled up. "Peep Peep Peep, I'm ready" he whistled, the Guard's whistle blew and Edward puffed away. Edward had a lovely day, the Coaches thought he was very kind and the driver was very impressed. That night all nine Engines were at the Sheds, the Fat Controller came to see them.
"As an Apology and Reward" he said to Edward. "You shall be given a new coat of paint and a Branch line as well."
  "Thank you Sir" peeped Edward.
"And thank you Emily for reminding me about Edward" added the Fat Controller. Emily was so happy her boiler bubbled. "You shall also have your own coaches as well."
"Thank you Sir" smiled Emily. "Could I work with Edward as well please?"
"If that's what you want" replied the Fat Controller. Now Edward worked happily again, with his new friends. Including Michael as well, who was very greatful and Edward and Emily worked together like firm friends. Edward is also known as the Fat Controller's most wisest Engine which makes him very proud indeed.
